With a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the number of possible victims of the conflict could reach 85,000 people. Such data was provided in an interview with Reuters by unnamed US officials.
According to their calculations, the Ukrainian troops risk losing from 5 to 25 thousand military personnel, Russian troops – from 3 to 10 thousand military personnel. Between 25,000 and 50,000 civilians could die in a conflict.
The agency noted that with the “invasion” of Russia in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine could fall “within a few days.” Also, according to officials, the conflict will lead to a multimillion-dollar flow of refugees to Europe.
Reuters interlocutors noted that Russia now has about 70 percent of the combat power that is allegedly needed for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. So, according to them, over the past two weeks, the number of tactical groups in the border area has grown from 60 to 83, while 14 more are on the way.
