40 days have passed since the death of actor Andrei Yaroslavtsev , who was called the “Voice of Hollywood”. In “The Lord of the Rings” he voiced the dwarf Gimli, in “Transformers” – Optimus Prime.
Yaroslavtsev is known to many Russians for his voice-over in popular foreign films over the past 40 years: “Highlander”, “Die Hard-2”, “Angelica – Marquis of Angels”, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, “The Book of Eli”, “The Hangover”, “Taxi 2” and more than a hundred works. His talent extended to different film genres: comedies, horror films, historical, children’s, romantic, action films.
On December 26, 2021 Andrey Yaroslavtsev died. At his funeral, many artists came to the funeral service and stood until the end of the service. A wreath was sent from the theater. He was buried in the village of Zakharovo near Zvenigorod, where his house is located. His civil wife, Inna Sinyavskaya, told kp.ru about the last days of Yaroslavtsev.
“Andrey and I met … in the hospital,” Inna told kp.ru. “Andrey was in the same room with my father – they both suffered from an advanced form of diabetes. I visited my dad every day, that’s how we met Andrey. He struck me with his intellect and the behavior of a real gentleman
A few days after discharge, Andrey called me and said that he missed me and my kitchen. I invited him to Sunday family dinner. He arrived with a bouquet of roses and a bottle of wine. I introduced him to my son and daughter. They liked him right away.
Family lunches and dinners have made Andrey native to my family. Son Maxim often helped him in his work on voice acting – he is a specialist in computers. By the way, Andrei worked on voice acting until the last day before he was taken to the hospital with covid.
He never managed to divorce his wife from Ukraine, with whom he did not live. The woman began to sue him because of their common property. He considered her a traitor – she took a lot of energy from him by courts. His daughters also distanced themselves from him.
He began to drink a lot, but, thank God, he met me. With me, alcohol in large quantities was banned. I tried to direct his energy into positive works. Finally, he released his book of stories … Andrey often told me: “You are my Three Same – my ideal – Feminine, Desired and Sacrificial.”
Too little happiness was given to me with him, but for these two years I am grateful to God. Theater artist. Evg. Vakhtangov, Honored Artist of Russia Mikhail Vaskov said about the departed Yaroslavets in a manly way: “At the Shchukin school we studied at different courses, but we knew Andrei. Friendship began when he came to the theater where I already worked. We saw each other almost every day Helped each other as much as they could. Andrey left the theater twice, but we didn’t get lost – we met at the first opportunity and called back regularly. Andrey was a true friend and a rare artist. His most successful work, in my opinion, is Yesaul in the play “Stepan Razin” and all his works in the play “Princess Turandot”.
“Andrey is a friend of our reckless youth of the 70s of the last century,” director Anatoly Demidov recalls him with pain in his soul. “The legend of the Shchukin Theater School and the Vakhtangov Theater. At that time he was well known in all theater and cinema circles. The teachers of “Pike” loved him for his quick reactions to their comments on acting, instant reincarnation and deepening of the role played. Ever since his student years, everyone predicted a bright future for him on the stage and in the cinema. He had many friends both among students and among ordinary people – he wholeheartedly gave the light of his heart to everyone and never suffered from “star disease”, despite his early popularity and demand.
Oleg Yankovsky was friends with him. Simonov, Ulyanov, Etush, Yakovlev appreciated his young talent and believed in a great artistic future. But, of course, Andrey had a very special popularity among theatrical and simply Moscow beauties. A real Don Juan, who had no failures. Yes, and how could they refuse him: a tall, naturally handsome blond man, charming and with a non-Soviet sense of humor: jokes sometimes from Western, sometimes from Russian classics, selected jokes mainly on sexual topics (although there was no sex in the USSR – the general opinion then Soviet moralists).
Andrei was different in the general environment of students – cheerful, free, without inferiority complexes. And how he sang songs with the guitar to the girls with his velvet baritone! As I read to them, beauties, the love lyrics of our poets – emotionally, looking eye to eye, almost without blinking. Either he unexpectedly kisses the hand, then gently strokes his cheek, then he hugs his shoulders with an experienced hand and – flowers, flowers, flowers. We all learned from him the skill of seducing women – I emphasize: the seduction of precisely beautiful girls – the most impregnable.
Among us, his friends, there was such a joke: in love, we are all adjutants of His Excellency Mr. Yaroslavtsev! But most importantly, he was always sincere. At least for one night he fell in love with his chosen ones … I was also a witness to many of his love affairs. On a hot August 1977, our company hung out every day in an apartment on Zhukov Avenue, my and my parents, who had gone on vacation for a whole month. During the day we went for a walk and swim in Serebryany Bor (fortunately, it was nearby), and in the evenings another party was going on in a two-room apartment: a light snack of amateur sausage or sausages with bread and several bottles of port wine (a respected drink by Shchukin students).
And, of course, familiar girls, most often theater students with sweet smiles and beautiful figures. Walked until midnight and then dispersed through the rooms and into the kitchen (three or four couples). The most beautiful girl always retired with Andrei. Little beauty from GITIS Elena Tsyplakova, a gorgeous student from the course of O. Tabakov Marysya Shimanskaya, a young, Russian beauty from Pike Natasha Fartysheva – actresses especially fascinated by Andrei …
Andrei Yaroslavtsev was a unique person. On February 3, 2022, friends commemorated the actor – forty days from the date of death. Someone will remember him for his roles in the theater and cinema, someone – a kind and cheerful person. But surely all Russians will remember his virtuoso voice, off-screen images of the heroes of classic Western films.
