The Russian team takes seventh place in the unofficial medal standings of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing after the first day of the competition.
At the moment, the Russian team has two medals – one silver and one bronze.
In the very first competition of the Olympics, in which the medals of the Games were played, – the ski skiathlon – Russian woman Natalya Nepryaeva won silver, which became the first medal of Russia in Beijing. Nepryaeva beat Teresa Stadlober of Austria by 0.3 seconds for second place.
After that, Russian biathletes won bronze in the mixed relay at the Beijing Olympics and brought the team of the Russian Olympic Committee a second medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics. Uliana Nigmatullina, Kristina Reztsova, Alexander Loginov and Eduard Latypov took part in the race.
At the moment, in the unofficial medal standings of the Olympics, Norway is leading with two medals in the asset, both of which are gold. In second place is Slovenia, which has one gold and one bronze. The third place in the standings is shared by three teams at once – China, the Netherlands and Sweden, which won one gold medal each.
The Beijing Olympics will run until February 20.
