The 2018 Olympic champion in women’s figure skating Alina Zagitova will work as a correspondent at the 2022 Games in Beijing. And the 19-year-old famous athlete loves it.
“Such nostalgia,” Alina Zagitova wrote on her Instagram account under a photo in which she poses in front of the Olympic ice arena. “I’m very happy to immerse myself in this atmosphere again.” But now not as an athlete who will fight with the strongest figure skaters for the gold of the Olympic Games, but as a correspondent whose task is no less responsible.
“This time I will be in the role of a correspondent who follows the events and covers them,” Alina added. “I’m honored to be the link between athletes and their fans on the other side of the screen.”
The 2018 Olympic champion also wished the ROC athletes great luck, strength and patience. “I’m rooting for everyone, you are great fellows, and you will succeed,” Zagitova concluded.
It should be noted that in addition to Alina Zagitova, two-time world and European champion Evgenia Medvedeva, as well as Maxim Trankov, Margarita Mamun, Alexei Yagudin and Ilya Averbukh, went as a correspondent. They are assisted by commentators Denis Kazansky, Alexander Grishin, Andrey Arikh, and Pavel Zanozin.
The XXIV Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing from 4 to 20 February 2022. The 2022 Games will feature 109 sets of medals, and Beijing will be the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Games. 109 sets of medals will be played at the tournament. The participants of the Games will be in a “bubble”, which will not allow them to go to the city, as well as intersect with the local population.
